Crochet a Holiday Gift!
Sunday, November 23
1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Fee: $40, with a $5 material fee due on the day of class paid directly to the artist with cash or through Venmo.
With the holidays fast approaching, the need for little gifts sneaks up on us. Perhaps you are feeling weary of buying the same old things for people each year. Or perhaps your previous DIY gifts have left your receivers a little underwhelmed?
Come join us for an intro to crochet and we'll set you up with the basic skills to make washcloths, bar soap scrubbies, and even coasters! Crochet is a forgiving method of crafting and a very mobile method! You can work on your small projects almost anywhere and tote them around easily. Let's start stitching!
We will be working with a size H (5) crochet hook and cotton yard (I prefer Sugar 'n Cream, but the Loops & Thread private label from Michael's would also be easy to get a hold of. I believe Wal-Mart also carries a yarn like this under their own private label called Peaches & Creme).
Katrina will provide the hook and yarn.
Meet the Artist:
Hi! My name is Katrina. I am an English teacher and creative busy body. I have been leaving my creative mark since my first crayon mural on the wall of my bedroom. I grew up with two grandmas who were home economics teachers so crafting and sewing have always been part of my world. I have shared my trinkets with friends and family for years, but they are now all good on potholders so I decided to branch out.
I follow my creative whims so things are always evolving. I try to repurpose and thrift where I can in order to make something new and useful again. Everything I make is one-of-a-kind, meaning the materials may not be available again to create the same item. I do my best to engineer items to last. It’s important to me that these labors of love hold up against the wear and tear of being well-loved.
