On Saturday, October 4th, during the Fresh Art Fall Tour we will be highlighting our resident artist Mary Pow.
Meet Mary Pow:
Mary Pow is a visual artist who works in two mediums: textiles and soft pastels. Her sewn fabric textile art is vibrant and abstract - and instantly recognizable with its architectural qualities. Her soft pastel paintings and drawings focus on scenes of nature and wonder.
Mary grew up in rural Minnesota, on a farm that had been in her family for four generations. Everything in her life was either homemade or handed down and she spent most of her time exploring and creating. She has a Masters of Architecture degree, and it’s through this unique lens that her art practice has flourished. She works out of her art studio in NE Minneapolis and travels across the country to attend the nation’s top art fairs.
Mary delights in finding joy in the ordinary - and believes possibilities are everywhere if you know how to look.
Join us in welcoming Mary at 12:00 p.m. on October 4th for a period of Q&A. and also tour the gallery to see and feel the powerful connection between her and her art.
Following the Q&A Mary will be teaching a fall felting class from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
The Q&A time is free of charge, however, if you are interested in taking the class there is a $45 class fee. Please pre-register for the class.
