science: meet art, a super fun & interactive class for kids!

  • the speckled alder W12098 Wisconsin 35 Stockholm, WI, 54769 United States (map)

Using science AND art, kids make their own Ooblek and slime in class. Oobleck is a non-Newtonian fluid made from a mixture of cornstarch and water. It's called "non-Newtonian" because it doesn't behave like a typical liquid or solid; it acts like a liquid when undisturbed, but like a solid when force is applied. When you squeeze oobleck, it becomes solid, but when you release the pressure, it turns back into a liquid.

then make some slime to take home with you!

6-13 year old class 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Class fee, $35

Please try to pre-register so that we ensure that we have enough supplies for everyone. Walk-in’s are always welcome though if we have space. We have a maximum capacity of 8 students.

claire moritz

Claire has been a teacher for several years now and is a mother to two boys aged 2.5 and 5 months old. I was a lead preschool teacher at a daycare with kids aged 2.5-3.5 and had classes of 10 kids in a room. After that I began teaching at a charter school in Columbia Heights. My first year I taught science to 5th graders and my second year I taught Language Arts to 6th graders. Along with those years of teaching, I also worked for “The Science Crew”, teaching different science lessons to ages 3-12. I love getting to teach and meet new kids while sharing the fun with them!
